MTS Luncheon in Houston

Image: MTS The next Marine Technology Society Houston Section luncheon will be held on August 23 and will feature a presentation by Paul Jones, Manager of Chevron’s Subsea Unit. Chevron has one of the largest deepwater portfolios in the oil & gas industry. Its portfolio is globally distributed and complex in terms of environment and reservoir deliverability. Developing the critical technologies and the engineering capabilities to deliver and operate this asset base will be a key focus for Chevron over the next five years. Paul Jones will discuss Chevron’s deepwater portfolio, highlight its complexity and identify the key subsea technology building blocks required to monetize Chevron’s assets in the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific. Over the next several years Chevron will deploy some complex subsea architectures and it is imperative that they perform with the 99+% reliability we see from today’s simpler systems. Critical to this achievement is the development of asset solutions, not discrete individual technologies. This presentation will describe this approach and how Chevron plans on achieving it. Technology is not the sole enabler for Chevron projects and assets: people are key. In today’s growing subsea sector, capable engineers are at a premium, supplier and contractor resources are stretched and Chevron’s project queue keeps growing. Organizational capability challenges abound. The presentation will highlight the multifaceted approach to delivering the engineering resources required to double Chevron’s subsea production over the next several years. The luncheon will be held at the Pelazzio, 12121 Westheimer, Houston 77077. Register online at http://www.mtshouston.org. The cost is $30 for MTS members and $40 for non members with payment in advance. Lunch sign in begins at 11:30 am the day of the event and meetings conclude at 1:00 pm
