AC-CESS to Debut Fly-Out ROV at OI
Working in conjunction with its engineering partners All Oceans, the AC-ROV 3000 offers visual inspection support for host vehicle operations in busy, congested and high risk operating environments. The support this provides can be categorized into two roles: - As a Buddy the AC-ROV 3000 can keep a watching eye on the host vehicle. Duties include checking the tether, giving added perspective on any tool deployments and generally providing an overview of operations.
Bourbon Takes Delivery of HD ROV Pair
Bourbon Subsea Services and Schilling Robotics have developed a new generation of ROVs for the Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of offshore fields. The HD ROV is a robot "Work Class" type, designed to be compact and energy efficient, equaling the largest ROVs by carrying up to 250 kilos of equipment in operation. REMUS Aids in Search for Princess Ashika
Hydroid said that in August 2009, the Royal New Zealand Navy’s Operational Diving Team and a specialist Remote Search Team were flown to Tonga, in an RNZAF Hercules, at short notice to assist with the search for the sunken ferry, Princess Ashika. Its REMUS 100 systems was the primary assets used in the search. The search was successful, and the RNZN located the ferry, intact and sitting in an upright position at a depth of 110 m.
OceanServer Wins Navy Contract
OceanServer won a contract to deliver two lightweight multibeam sonar equipped AUV’s to the US Navy. The AUV’s are to be operationally tested and delivered to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Command at the Stennis Space Center in September of 2010. This is the fourth such award to OceanServer Technology (OTI) over the past two years and represents the most sophisticated vehicle developed by OTI to date.
